Yeah I meant shoto sorry, the term wasn't coming to me.
How does it not apply to him though? From what I see he's a balanced fighter that has a projectile and a DP, as well as a solid set of normals. I'm curious as to what makes him unique.

one thing that makes Yu pretty different from shotos is that his Izanagi attacks are delayable, which seems really versatile when it comes to pressure and combos. Like Katsu said above, it looks like you can have Izanagi chain his attacks together to get the enemy blocking so that Yu is free to throw out some mixup
That sounds... nifty.
I was curious because I was thinking of maining Yu when the game drops (because I have horrible execution) , but didn't really want to play him if he was going to be boring... the tricks with Izanagi that players are learning seem to be giving him some more spice.
Yeah he does but the term shoto doesn't necessarily apply to a character just because he has a DP and a projectile. Benimaru, K' and Kyo are examples of characters with said traits but aren't considered a "shoto". I haven't watched much Yu gameplay but from what I did see not many of the players utilized his projectile anyway.

Hey guys, pretty new to the forum and P4A in general, so sorry if my question may have been asked before/is a bit dumb.
But I come from playing BB and KoF, in your opinions, who would you say Yu plays similar to? I watched some match videos with him and seems pretty interesting.
Yu plays like Relius and Ky Kiske from Guilty Gear. He has some of Ky's moves and Izanagi works like Ignis with their frametraps and such.

Nice frametraps, sounds like my kind of character. Thanks for answering my question =]
Now to go read up on my normals/specials
I have to say that Yu can deal a lot of damage with only a small combo leading into a Ziodyne at the end. (I've been watching some Naru matches. XP)
But I did want to ask-
1.For doing Zio, is it a standard Hadouken Motion?
2.What's Yu's health looking like for the release of P4-Arena?
