Aki, looks pretty darn promising. He looks like he'll be Shoto like. That Shoryuken looks beast!
Looking at the counter above his SP bar, it looks like he could potentially have his own leveling system for abilities or hypers.
Looks like that'd be an interesting subsystem.

There's also the super cancel function, too. I know that's a game mechanic but that's the first I've seen it pop up ever

Most games have super cancel these days, I'm pretty sure, so it's not that surprising. I'm gonna do something rare for me and say something with no basis in reality: I almost feel like Akihiko may have Tarukaja (or something like Elec Boost, maybe?) That could be what that gauge is for.
Edit: It's also worth noting that his counter is the same as Yukiko's. So maybe it's Elec Break?

Hmm. Akihiko specialized in debuffs though, but it could be possible still. It's not like Izanagi had Ziodyne unless you used fusion.

Another thing, I get this feeling that Aki will have that super as a regular move, albeit, a scaled down version of course. So it'll make him a resident DP'er

...Are you saying Akihiko may have... a dragon punch? Almost every fighting game character has a dragon punch, Katsu. Doesn't make them a Resident DPer.

Yeah I know that, I guess I worded it wrong. I meant to say that he'd be effective at DP'ing
