Your favorite P3P protagonist, and why!

Right, so Persona 3 Portable would've been considered a technical downgrade if it hadn't made up for the presentation drop and lack of "The Answer" by giving the player the option to play through the game as a female protagonist instead of the traditional Male Blue-Haired Emo Shinji Ikari (Except Not NEARLY As Whiny, and Blessedly Silent) Protagonist... and by injecting all of Persona 4's battle system improvements, although I kinda miss the old Fusion Spell system. For a change, this actually constitutes a significant difference in gameplay content that I can appreciate beyond the aethetic difference of playing as a guy versus playing as a girl.

So I was wondering: what is everyone's favored P3P protagonist to play as, and what they prefer about it.? Mine's the female one, by a slim margin. For one thing, I just appreciate her design a bit more than the male protagonist's, who looks a bit anime-stereotypical with his blue hair and stuff. I also like the naginata weapon type more than the shortsword, and prefer "Wiping All Out" and "Danger Zone" over "Mass Destruction" and "Master of Tartarus" as battle and sub-boss themes. I also appreciate the differing Social Links and the female protagonist's more vibrant assortment of dialogue options (she's definitely livelier than the male protagonist is). I could do without the blinding pink HUD design, but meh, nothing's perfect...

I like Minato more,The female mc is good but She is a girl an I'm a boy an doing the social Links with other dudes wanting her left me feeling awkward(Since you play as her),On a side note I would not mind P5 having a Female Mc as long as we could date other girls.

Is it wrong that I read this post and heard Kanji Tatsumi reading it out in my head?

I always play as female characters in RPGs that give me the choice anyway, and I'm pretty flexible about who I romance when that happens (I romance Kaiden, Thane, or Garrus in Mass Effect as often as I do Liara or Traynor), so I don't really relate to the whole awkwardness thing. I'm playing as a girl and I'm romancing a guy; the scene I'm watching isn't terribly different from when I romance a girl while playing as a guy, except that I'm choosing the dialogue options for the other participant this time around. Not much to be awkward about there. (I am quite reluctant to do any guy/guy romances such as the Steve Cortez one in Mass Effect 3, but that's just me being a typical "guy" myself...)

Nah its not wrong GET BENT!....lol,The same way you cant do guy/guy(I cant either)I cant do girl/guy if Iam playing as the female,Like mass effect I play as femShep but I only romance Liara cause shes a girl.

I prefer the female MC in P3P due to what I believe to be a better design, battle themes and school themes that I believe were better than the male counterparts, her livelier atmosphere and the ability to have social links with the males on your team which I think fleshed them out a lot more (specifically Shinji).

Well, if it's just P3P, then I'd have to say the girl, because it allowed for a new experience.

FeMC because

1. She uses Naginata which I was not use to seeing in RPGs
2. I like to use girl characters when I can.
3. I like some of her social links more.
4. I just like her character in general

FeMC for numerous reasons
1.I'm really tired of having to play as a boy.
2. I felt he relationships with the other members of SEES were better developed than the MC and a lot less forced
3. I prefer her music
4.From the dialogue choices we are given I greatly prefer her personality she is really kind and cheerful.
5.I'm allowed a sort of Lady/Lady romance for once with Aigis.

FeMC too! I really liked her personality; like StrangeLove said, she just seems more open and cheerful. Plus, some of her dialogue choices are hilarious.

Honestly, that reply nearly knocked me off my chair the first time I saw it!

My favortie character of the series is Akihiko, so as dumb as it sounds i focus on him more than the main character. I don't mind playing as either. The game is a masterpiece anyway.
