    I'm just using common sense. If you want to say it can be done then you must have a reason to believe that. It's not like Atlus creates their stories through magic, they still create them using the basic concepts of storytelling that have been around for hundreds of years. Just because video games are a relatively new medium doesn't mean that storytelling is. The idea that 20+ main characters could share the screen at the same time is pretty ridiculous.

    Suikoden 2 is one of my favorite RPGs ever and I still wouldn't say it accomplishes that either. There's only a handful of characters that get regular screen time, (basically - The Protagonist, Nanami, Jowy, and Flik and Viktor to a lesser extent), everyone else has very situational relevance to the story and many none at all.

    I would actually say Suikoden 3 gets the closest to accomplishing this of anything. With the trinity view system they were able to have 3 distinct and relatively well developed groups of characters. Of course that doesn't really disprove my point, because they still were limited to roughly 6 characters per scenario at a time and as soon as they all joined together most of them got thrown in the back never to be heard from again.

    20+ main characters sharing the screen does sound crazy in a persona game, hell even picking from 20+ characters at the beginning of the game sounds crazy, but it would be one epic persona with alot of playable characters. Not at once tho, could make it option based like Star Ocean 2 where you can only get certain characters...makes playing through it again more worth it.

    I think 20+ would be pretty close to impossible. Assuming they keep the same patterns they've used in 3 and 4, there's no way they'd be able to create meaningful character development for 20+ characters in the "calendar year" design.

    Of course, they could just do two years, or something, but just think about P4 having 20 characters in it, you're looking at like a 300 hour game if they're all as developed as the current P4 characters are.

    If that means they'd need to cut down on the character development time of each character, I'm not sure I'm into that. Maybe in a perfect world I'd like having 20+, but I don't think I like that idea as it is.

    As for what I want in P5,

    Fusion spell system from 2.
    P4G battle system.
    Social links but done in a new way.
    Maybe no school setting.
    FMV cut-scenes.
    Multiple endings.
    Optional party members.
    References to past series.
    Some sort of multilplayer function.

    I think it'd be awesome that if they wanted to summon their personas, they had to put on a mask and BECOME their persona.

    Don't forget something mega-hard-stupid like Snow Queen Quest ;.;
    and bring back the old Auto system. I know it sounds really lazy but it made tedious grinding... less tedious.

    The one area where Persona can really improve is in the area of dungeon construction. Namely the way each dungeon is a labyrinth built out of the same three or four stock room/hallway bits and bobs? Give us more lively environments, some puzzle elements, and so forth! Persona 3 had an excuse to be stock-hallway based, because Tartarus was always randomly switching around, but Persona 4's dungeons always kept the same layout... so no excuses there, the dungeon environments were cheap and bland. The games are still awesome, but the dungeons are definitely a weak point.

    Something I'd really be glad for to come back from Persona 2 was the fact you had 5 characters out in your party during a fight as opposed to 4. I feel like this could work out pretty well, especially if there were a lot of party members.

    Only reason I don't want a lot of party members is due to it becoming redundant having 3 zio users and such. Unless they were to bring back some old elements like earth and water, I doubt there would be more then 10 characters on your team.
    you would only need 8 party members to fill out each of the current elements...

    Oh and I really hope that demons as enemies come back from P2. I dunno bout you guys, but fighting recolored shadows is kinda stupid when you have a whole log of demons to use for enemies.
