I'm making this thread for all the airdasher/niche/anime/non-Capcom/awesome fighting game players out there in Southern Ontario. I know we've got a lot more players than we realize, but there's no central place/forum where all of us can meet each other, talk about our non-mainstream fighting games, and schedule offline meet-ups and events.
UNTIL NOW!
Do you play (or want to learn):
- P4U
- Skullgirls
- King of Fighters
- Melty Blood
- Arcana Heart
- Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
- Guilty Gear
- Super Smash Bros
- or BlazBlue?
Do you live in:
- Toronto/GTA
- Waterloo
- Hamilton
- London
- Cobourg
- St Catharines
- Windsor
- or another southern Ontario city?
Then register here and join us!Everyone is welcome: more people always make a community more hype!
(Edit: apparently if you double-post in this forum, it simply appends the new post to your previous one. :P So pretend my next post is below.)
I'll start things off with aquicklong introduction of myself.
My name's Bill. I live and play in Waterloo. I've been playing FGs since 2007 (I played StarCraft: Brood War before that). I started with SF3:3s, then moved on to AH1, SF4, TvC:UAS, AH2 (yes, really), MBAA, AH3, and Skullgirls.
I've travelled to and enjoyed a number of US and Canadian majors, mainly repping Canada in AH3 and MBAA(CC). My eventual goal is to snatch 1st place at an American Major. I've placed 2nd and 3rd in AH3 singles before, but with many regrets I could not take 1st. I'm hoping I can reach my goal in P4U once it comes out. (Alternatively, if someone else from Canada took 1st place, I would also consider that a major victory for the community.)
I also enjoy doing commentary. :P I record a lot of match videos because a) I used to watch a lot of match videos, and b) I've found that I learn the most from watching my own matches and my own losses. Historically, I have a bad track record for not uploading footage promptly after an event, though (unless I did really well...) <_<;;.
Lastly, I hope that everyone who plays these games in southern Ontario can consolidate into one large community to challenge each other, hype things up, and generally enjoy these games a lot more than as individuals and small groups. Hence this topic.![]()
