    Labrys - General Discussion [v1.02]

Discuss all about the new robotic girl to the Persona universe. She is known as Yasogami's Steel Council President, she wields a large axe and hits hard.
    Rules:
    • Act mature. Casual talk is welcome but no immature posts. Follow forum rules.
    • Respect other players. If someone labels something wrong don't be rude and insult. Nicely state the correction needed.

    Patch Notes
    • Icon: Icon position has been adjusted
    • Axe Level: Axe Level does not increase at the end of a round
    • Goshiki Slash Axe [B+D]: Can now be charged by holding B+D before the attack; at maximum charge, the move forces counter-hit , causes a wall bound
    • Guillotine Axe [214A or B]: Counter hit state during recovery has been removed
    • String Arts "Tsurugi" [22A or B or C or D] (B, C, D version): Labrys’s total recovery is now the same as the A version
    • String Arts "Moujuu" [214214C or D]: Attack start-up is faster

Not trying to be mean by saying this so please do not take offense, but I honestly hope her playstyle is changed post patch. In v1.01 you were mostly fishing around for a j.B(?) cross up and comboing from there. To me personally, that's just a little how do you say it... obvious? It's great when she GETS a set-up but she has few and far inbetween from what I've seen in v1.01. So hopefully after the patch she gets a little more "not so obvious" to predict. Still all the same, looking forward to working with Labrys.

Why would I take offense to that lol I whole heartily agree that I would like more ways of getting in with Labrys. As you said it really was about j.B fishing, She does have other options but for the most part they are pretty unsafe and just as obvious, her "mixups" are as clear as day to see. From the patch notes we got I don't think it'll change that much, so long as we get that first knockdown with Labrys the amount of tools we get open up quick but I myself would still like viable ways in prior to that ... maybe its the price to pay for being able to kill a character with 70% health with one super lol (at red axe level obviously)

I'm still curious how the Axe Meter gonna look like, maybe it will be a bigger icon or maybe a gauge that everytime it fills/depletes ups/downs a level.

They just said it was relocated in the patch notes not remade, I would like a gauge though ... it would help give us an idea of how much increase we get from each axe move on hit and whiff.

LOL I honestly don't know why you would take offense to that. Sometimes my intent is good but the wording makes it bad ya know?

Anyways, as far as her mixups go, I think with Ariadne and people's ability to make tech out of nowhere, I think EVENTUALLY something will come up. You know how I am Azure, you know I'll try to find something here and there. xD
I agree with your last statement. I would also like ways to mixup prior to her knockdown, but alas.. live with what ya got. I think she'd be quite scary pressure wise with some meter and the rope.. whatever you call it that pulls her towards your opponent. I don't know if you can feint that but that'd be pretty cool if so. Haha the red axe special.. All I have to say that is this:

: Screw the rules, I have red Axe special.
    : WTF!? D:< .........

(^ I'm sure we'll have PLENTY of this due to the special, lmao)

So sometimes your intent isn't good lol Don't worry I understand I'm bad with words myself alot of the time

Yeah players have been using Ariadne alot more lately which I'm really happy about because it lets us know what ways it can be used, I hate it when a character has various movesets but they are ignored because they are deemed worthless which is how I felt when I didn't see her at all during those earlier match videos ... she was there but no used it. Once we get our hands on training mode I'm sure shits going to go down lol Alot of hidden technology usually gets revealed then ... right now we have the a "base Labrys" to work off of and develop from there.

I think its a good trade off I mean if she had better pressure I think people would start to complain about how broke she is, I'm sure more people will start to complain as well about her damage potential as well in due time. Right now Labrys is hasn't caught the eyes of many players yet, when I was watching that KVO stream people were like "WHO DA **** is that" in the chat ... she doesn't get alot of attention IMO because no one has any sort of attachment to her from playing the PS2 RPGs (for those who played the games) or because no one really talks about her.

If you looked at the console screenshots on the NA site you would see two screenshots showing it. Either go to System > All-Out Attacks, or check my rip. It's just the same but moved more to the edge of the sp bar.

Oh we all know Azure. ;D

I agree. Labrys has a hell of a lot of potential, but people don't really seem to know how to work with it. Ariadne has some scary looking moves, presuming if what I think they're for is correct. Also, I guess due to Labrys's do or die playstyle, its one of those things where you're so concerned about not dropping your axe level that you kinda forget what you CAN do on the upside. Also I think that's a reason alot of people do not play her. I've heard comments where she doesn't do any damage outside of Red Axe, which is entirely untrue. OK yeah she doesn't do as much as say or for no meter but she hits hard. Either way, upon console release, we'll see some new developments no doubt. Just kinda wish we had a precedent to give us an idea.

Well people complain about EVERYTHING for different reasons. It's stereotypical for people to complain about a said character that does alot of damage. But let people complain, that's they're own problem, lol. I think people choose their mains based off playstyle more than character love. Though the latter has a huge part of that I would assume. But meh.. think about it, If you can kick ass with an obscure character that no ones know how to fight, you won't have alot to worry about lol.
