Canonically they weren't ever shown with their ultimate personae. Unlike P3, it's optional whether you get the Ultimate Persona or not rather than them appearing as you progress through the story
Kinda bad, since it implies that the P4 cast didn't evolve their personality in any way when compared to P3's...
The only characters that should have their ultimate persona are Teddie and Yu as they are using the true ending for the plot. Yu has Izanagi-no-okami as his instant kill but I have no idea why Teddie does not have his ultimate persona as him getting it was a part of the plot, my guess would be because the others don't have their ulitimate persona.
Being this fabulous can be tough at times but for you mongrels I’ll continue to be fabulous.
But still I'm pretty sure the canon route wasn't skipping through the days not getting a single social link.
Yeah, but you missed one dude. Teddie. His Persona would transform to Kamui unless this game chooses the bad ending route, which I kinda doubt it. Well, Yu too but since he can switch persona's and his IK is Izanagi-no-Okami so he's out.Originally Posted by diorJETS

The social links are optional. The only canon social link to the story are the ones that progress regardless of what you do (Fool, Judgement). My guess is the new Ultimate Persona they are showing for the Golden will be their "true" ultimate Persona and they will get them as the story progresses.
Yeah, Yu obviously gets his Ultimate but I'm skeptical about Teddie's.
Could be they just thought the original persona were more iconic, so they decided to use them for artistic reasons, as opposed to plot reasons.

You mean iconic as in "recognized"? Cause Konohana-Sakuya Hime is definitely not more iconic than Amaterasu lol.
Who knows? Maybe they just did it for the sake of the attacks or something. Maybe they're going with the logic they used in the answer when everyone powered down. "Yeah we havnet done shit in a while" Just because they completed their magical journey with Narukami doesn't mean they wont have any other hardships in life that would make them question themselves, maybe in the 2 months he left they had more problems that caused them to downgrade or something..........I dunno.
