  1. Last CG animation that I watched and could actually appreciate was Zoids. It was new to the anime world but it was actually done really well, I'll admit that it sort of got boring after the second season with some raptor as a battery for Trigger (sp?).

As for Aquarion Evol the first episode caught my attention. I mean the music and characters were just flawless and I thought I wouldn't really get into mecha right after FullMetal Panic. So glad I was proven wrong by this and not episode could piss me off but I'm amazed how much hate Mikono could get from her audience.

I was probably 14 episodes in when I discovered a first season to it, Sousei no Aquarion. Torrent it immediately and just fell in love all over again, the characters actions and strong development practically puts the second season to shame. I would suggest going over that as well if you want a stronger understanding of the story.
  2. Yeah there are pretty few people who I know that are currently watching Evol. There are only like three people on the other forum I go to who are watching it, so I don’t get to discuss it all that much. But it really should get more discussion it is a great show the production values are top notch (normally I hate CG mecha with a burning passion but I really do not mind it in Evol since it is so well done, the only other time I have not hated CG mecha was in Macross Frontier and in Gundam Unicorn) and it has a pretty interesting story. I am glad I got into it, it has been hands down the best anime I have watched of the winter season.
  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one watching Aquarion Evol, you don't understand how difficult it is to try and get other friends into it. I can't even make a comparison out of it since the story and characters are outside the normal things I encounter.
  4. If you have trouble finding torrents for 7 and Zero there quite a few streams that are pretty easy to find.

Yeah IMO I think macross over all is a pretty great franchise. I really love the combination of music and the gorgeous mecha fights all in all I’ve really like what I’ve watched (well except 7 I just finished it and I really did not care for it) but I just hope I’m not hyping it up too much for you and you end up not liking it.

Lol don’t worry about hating on Akira I know a couple of people who dislike it too.
  5. It would probably take a week to download them since the seeds are so small. I can watch the original and both movies but finding Zero and also 7 might be the difficult part. Thanks for the useful information, I can't wait to discover such an unbelievable world.

I'm just hoping it's as good as you make it out to be. Don't really discriminate on old series as some of still hold a dear place to me back in 96'. You may hate me for this but I couldn't fully appreciate AKIRA for what it was, probably too psychological for it's own good.
  6. In terms of chronological order for the macross series it goes Zero, original/Do you remember love, plus, 7 and then finally Frontier/frontier films. I would start by watching the original series that’s how I watched it. But you can jump into any Marcoss without having any background knowledge.

Also note that Do you remember love is a alternate retelling of the original series in movie form and the frontier films are a alternate retelling of frontier. The macross plus movie is the same as the OVA excpet it is shorter and there are some new scenes.

The macross franchise is pretty fantastic I have greatly enjoyed what I have watched so far (with the exception of 7) but if you don’t like J-pop then you may want to stay away
