When I look to the left I see a little thing that says: "rep power"
what is this?
I apologize in advance if this was mentioned some where and I failed to see it.

Rep Power is the amount of reputation you give to someone when you rep them. Your own power increases as you get rep.
Edit: Although I can't remember but I'm pretty sure you can always give at least 1, correct me if I'm wrong. Dunno, I barely pay attention to the system on other forums so. :/

I think you need to have a certain amount of posts before your rep power rises above zero. You can still rep someone, and leave a comment, but they won't receive any +rep for it until you have x number of posts.

Hmm... I was under the assumption that one gains "rep" by recommending others to the MM forums.

Tbh, I gotta fix the rep system sometime, I've been procrastinating it, though its better I do it now before we get to many members lol. I'll fix it soon

Doesn't it just go up each time someone clicks the star icon underneath a person's post?

Nope. If you look at your settings, you might see grey rep boxes. That means you didn't get any +rep.
